The Open Coop

The Open Co-op is an Open Organisation committed to Co-operative principles, Consensus-based models of Democracy and the use of Free Software.

Our purpose is to build a world-wide community of individuals and organisations committed to the creation of a collaborative, sustainable economy; a global network of sustainably managed commons.

In collaboration with our growing network of partners, The Open Co-op aims to combine the Tools for Change resource pack with software and training to create an easily replicable model for self-organised local economic renewal and community/commons-based sustainable regeneration.

Guided by best practice, and aided by Viable Systems modelling, Chaordic Design, and Open Space Technology, The Open Co-op will help groups to set up Community Support Providers in their area, empowering local groups to self-organise and share resources, improving quality of life and reducing Ecological Footprint
